Incentive to Read: Mystery PictureI am introducing a new incentive for Farley students to read over winter break. Students track the title of each book read, read to, and listened to over winter break on the back of this paper. All they need to record is the title of the book, and then a complete total when they return to school. For each book read they will receive a sticker to add to the mystery picture. The picture will be on a giant piece of grid paper. Each grid is coded to identify which color sticker goes in the box. As stickers are added a picture will emerge. The picture requires 7,040 stickers!
The stickers will be given out on the honor system. They do not have to take an AR test to receive a sticker. Students may choose to take AR quizzes if they wish. Adults that work in my building can join the fun! My co-worker, Alice Reinert, used a mystery sticker page to track books read for picture book month. I borrowed this idea from Mrs. Reinert. Feel free to copy my documents and change them in any way you like. Click here for the handout. Click here to visit the website Let's Stick Together to order the sticker poster.
